Every collection begins with curiosity.

Long before LAZARO living or Amstel Design existed, there was Amstel Gallery. Founded by Petra Leene in 2006, the gallery grew from a lifelong fascination with photography, contemporary art and exceptional design, to an international gallery present at numerous international Art fairs. What started as a search for meaningful work evolved into an international gallery representing artists whose work tells stories, challenges perspectives and becomes part of the homes they inhabit.

Over the years, one question kept returning.

People would discover a photograph they loved, then ask how to style the room around it. Collectors wanted help finding furniture, lighting and objects that felt as considered as the artwork itself. Others asked for advice on arranging their homes or sourcing pieces beyond the gallery's collection.

Rather than seeing these as separate businesses, they became natural extensions of the same philosophy.

Today that vision lives through three brands, each with its own focus but connected by the same belief: thoughtfully chosen objects have the power to transform the way we experience our homes.

LAZARO living

Lazaro Living grew from the desire to surround great art with equally inspiring interiors.
When founder Petra immigrated to the USA in 2016 she got the opportunity to bring several European brands to the US as a distributor and from there, LAZARO living grew into an online platform for European and American design, lifestyle and home goods.

The collection brings together furniture, lighting, tableware, textiles and objects from carefully selected European and American brands, many available exclusively in the United States. Every piece is chosen with the same eye for composition, craftsmanship and character that has always guided the gallery.

It is less about decorating a house and more about creating a home that reflects the people who live there.

Every home tells a story before a single word is spoken.

Through Amstel Design, Petra works with homeowners, collectors, real estate professionals and businesses to create interiors that feel authentic, balanced and personal. Services range from art placement and interior styling to home staging, consultation and sourcing exceptional pieces through an international network of artists, galleries and designers.
